Peter Hodgkinson

Peter might be one of the most fascinating figures in motorsport you’ve never heard of.

After leaving his native New Zealand in 1986, Peter began his career with Jack Roush in Detroit, working on SCCA Trans Am and IMSA GTO programmes. Three years and nine championships later, he moved on to join Tom Walkinshaw’s operations—contributing to IMSA GTP, Le Mans, and the Ligier F1 programme.

Ten years at TWR gave Peter deep experience in leadership and team dynamics, culminating in his appointment as Team Manager at Panoz Motorsports, overseeing their IMSA and Le Mans campaigns.

Following Le Mans in 1999, Formula 1 came calling. Over the next 26 years, Peter worked in Brackley across four eras: BAR, Honda Racing, Brawn GP, and Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1. He served as Head of Build until 2020, when he transitioned into a people-focused role as Head of Employee Engagement.

Most recently, Peter brought his expertise to the INEOS America’s Cup Team as Build Operations Manager for the AC37 campaign.

Peter’s extensive and varied experience—across top-level motorsport and in organisational culture—gives him rare insight into what it takes to build, lead, and sustain high-performing teams. His unique perspective bridges technical execution and psychological resilience, helping leaders understand what it truly takes to win—and keep winning—under pressure.
